Abstract

At the end of 2018, the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH), expressed concern to manage the volume that is lost due to the overflow of cisterns and reservoirs at the entrances of customers, either residences or State, emphasizing those who, even if their connections are not counted or not, cannot charge the volume that it consumes and even more, we do not have control of the volume that is lost due to the overflow of these reservoirs caused by the damage to the accessory that limits the entrance to the cisterns and tanks known as a floating valve.

The Aguas de la Habana Company, committed to the sustainable and rational use of water in the Havana Province, is required to distribute floating valves to the population and strategic state agencies to be installed in the tanks.

With this experience, initially practiced in pilot sectors with suitable characteristics to be analyzed, an idea is expressed of what the massive installation of this device represents to save the volume not invoiced, not consumed and produced by the source.
