Tubular biodigesters and their contribution to environmental improvement and quality of life in rural areas: systematization of a successful experience in the municipality of Placetas
Main Article Content
Abstract
The work was carried out in the Porcine Base Business Unit (UEB) of the Placetas municipality, Villa Clara province. A systematization was carried out in the period December 2018 to June 2019 that involved direct beneficiaries, managers of involved institutions and other allied organizations in the program of introduction and generalization of the PVC geomembrane tubular biodigesters, supported by the Small Donations Program/ UNDP. Techniques and instruments were applied for the collection of information, with which a critical interpretation, ordering and reconstruction of the lived process were carried out, which helped to discover the logic of the process, the factors that have intervened in it, how they have been related to each other and why they did it that way. All of the above from two fundamental dimensions: social and environmental. Consequently, successes and failures were identified, reflected on, and learning from experience was achieved, which is a key element in the purpose of transferring and adapting knowledge. Finally, the lessons learned are presented, which as a strategic result were socialized in different spaces between the beneficiary groups and the institutions related to this development initiative in the municipality.
