Irrigation evaluation of henequen seedlings with the use of photovoltaic solar energy

Abstract
Cuba is interested in the cultivation of Henequen because research has shown that, compared to synthetic fibers, henequen fiber is more resistant for the production of ropes and cord, so that obtaining quality white fiber is important in the productive chain. The objective of this work is to evaluate the possibility of introducing renewable energy in the irrigation of the cultivation of henequen seedlings to control the necessary water in the nursery stage, in particular photovoltaic solar energy. The assisted irrigation with photovoltaic solar energy in Henequen can be carried out from in different procedures, however, localized irrigation is one of the most widespread techniques for obtaining quality crops, the introduction of renewable energies in crops favors energy needs in production processes. The localized drip irrigation is proposed, presenting the integrated irrigation system with photovoltaic solar energy, determining the amount of drippers in the irrigation, the required water flow, in the water pumping process calculating pressure, load and losses, determining the number of photovoltaic cells and system power. It is concluded that the irrigation system assisted with photovoltaic solar energy can be used.
