Abstract

Agroecology is currently emerging as an alternative to produce in a cleaner, more sustainable and fairer way, in the search for food sovereignty and the revitalisation of rural and local economies. The following research was carried out on four farms in the municipality of Taguasco, Sancti Spíritus, which benefited from the project "Capacity building for climate resilience and agro-energy from the leadership of women in the municipality of Taguasco (CLIM@S)", during the second half of 2023. It aimed to assess the agroecological transition on these farms and co-generate proposals for agroecological transformation in a more effective way according to local resources and knowledge dialogue. To meet this objective, the methodologies of the Socioecological Resilience Assessment by Casimiro (2016a) and the Diagnostic Methodology for Initiating Agroecological Transformation by Venegas et al. (2018) were used, based on field visits and dialogues with the families involved. The baseline of the project was established with the diagnosis carried out, which showed a medium to low socio-ecological resilience in the four farms. Strategic lines for the agroecological transition to higher levels were identified, with the participation of farming families and other actors in the food system in Taguasco.
